Competitions are conducted to help the students to overcome their stage fright. Some boys who are usually shy and quiet in the class-room and in their homes tend to surprise the teachers and their parents with their outstanding performances. They become bold and confident in all that they do.
The Nursery section has been organizing many activities and events since its inception. In the academic year 2017 too, a few events have been conducted up-to date.
Parent Teacher Meetings
On the 3rd and 4th July 2017, Parent Teacher Meetings were conducted in the respective classrooms. The parents were welcomed and were told about the important role of the PTA in the all round development of the students. The method of teaching in Sunbeam was also explained in brief to the parents. The parents were informed about the forthcoming events and activities.
Poetry Recitation Competition
On 14th August 2017, a poem recitation competition was conducted. Every child was encouraged to participate in this competition. The kids were told to recite poems on topics such as mother, teacher, earth, tree, save water, say no to plastic bags, etc. Our tiny tots recited different poems with a lot of expression. Some were timid as it was their first performance, speaking in front of such a large gathering of friends, parents and teachers, while others were bold as brass.
Singing Competition
A singing competition was organized on 21st August 2017. The students were motivated to sing in English, Kannada, Hindi or Marathi. Our little singers sang in their sweet and melodious voices; some sang patriotic and devotional songs, some about their favorite cartoon characters and the others sang about their country and parents.
Dance Competition
On 14th and 15th September a dance completion was organized. Our little ones, dressed in various colourful costumes, were very happy and excited to display their dancing talents and shake a leg to different tunes. The boys got our feet tapping to the beats of disco and bollywood songs. Mrs. Maria Lobo and Miss. Steffi Fernandes kindly consented to be the judges for the competition.
