St. Paul’s won the High School Athletics General Championship, Under 14 Throwball Tournament & Under 17 Shuttle Badminton tournaments.
St. Paul’s secured the second place at the Belgaum District Education Department Under 14 Hand-ball Tournament.
September 2016:
- Departmental Interschool Net-Ball Tournament 2016
St. Paul’s organized the Departmental Interschool Net-Ball Tournament for the Taluka and District level on the 27th September 2016 in which ten schools participated actively. The school team also participated and were declared the winners.
October 2016:
- Departmental Interschool Football Tournament 2016
St. Paul’s organized the Departmental Interschool Football Tournament 2016 for the Divisional Level on the 17th and 18th October 2016 for the nine districts (Belgaum, Haveri, Dharwad, Gadag, Vijayapura, Sirsi, Karwar, Bagalkot and Chikkodi) of Karnataka. In all 27 teams from the various districts participated in the tournament. St. Paul’s represented Belgaum District and won the Under 17 boys.
November 2016:
- State Level Department Under 17 Football Tournament
Eleven boys from St. Paul’s represented the Belgaum Division Under 17 Football Team at the State Level Department Under 17 Football Tournament. They were accompanied by 3 players of Sarvodaya Vidhyalaya Khanapur and 2 players from Chikkodi district. The team brought name and glory to Belgaum Division by winning the State Level Football Tournament 2016 which was organized by the Education Department at Basavanhalli in Kodagu district. They qualified for the Nationals which was to be held at Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 16th to 25th November 2016. Master Niegel Vaz of St.Paul’s was declared the Player of the Tournament and Master Aman Sayed of St. Paul’s was declared as the Best Goal Keeper of the Tournament. Master Vishal Souz and Master Sylvester Pias of St. Paul’s were the highest goal scores of tournament scoring five goals each. Mr. Gregory Mendes was the team Manager and the boys were trained and coached by Mr. Agnelo Rego. (After a long gap of 22 years, Belgaum Division qualified for the Nationals). - State Level Department Under 14 Badminton Tournament 2016
Boys from St. Paul’s represented Belgaum District at the State Level Department Under 14 Badminton Tournament 2016, and two among them, Master Sujnyan Kini and Master Sufiyan Desai of were selected to represent Belgaum Division for the Nationals which was to be held at Nagpur on 6th November 2016. They defeated teams from Bangalore, Mysore and Gulbarga. Master Sujnyan Kini was selected as the captain of the Karnataka State Under 14 boys badminton team. Umar Yaksambi also represented the Belgaum Division for the State Levels. - State Level Department Under 17 Swimming Tournament 2016
Boys from St. Paul’s represented Belgaum District at the State Level Department Under 17 Swimming Tournament 2016, and two among them, Master Nikhit Patel and Aditya Bagai won their events. They were selected to represent the state at the National Level which was to be held at Rajkot on 22nd November 2016. They were trained and coached by Mr. Prasad Tendolkar. - Under 14 Taluka Level Department Hockey Tournament
St. Paul’s were the runners up at the Under 14 Taluka Level Department Hockey Tournament. Five players played for the Divisional Level and Master Md. Kasim Mujawar represented Belgaum division at the State Level. The boys were trained and coached by Mr. Irfan Bagban. - 31st Dasappa Shanbag Trust Under 16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2016
St. Paul’s were the winners of the 31st Dasappa Shanbag Trust Under 16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2016 wherein 16 teams participated. Samarth Shetty of St. Paul’s was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ at the finals. - Patrick D’Lima Under 13 Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2016
St. Paul’s defeated St. Mary’s to win the 5th Season of Rev. Fr. Patrick D’Lima Under 13 Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2016, among the 14 teams that had participated. The boys were trained and coached by Mr. Anand Karadi. - 6th Phoenix Under 13 Football Cup 2016
St. Paul’s were the winners of the 6th Phoenix Under 13 Football Cup 2016 wherein twenty schools participated. They defeated Islamiya High School by 1 goal to nil. The winning goal was scored by Master Hanzala Pathan.
December 2016:
- Annual Sports Meet 2016
This Annual Sports Day was held on 2nd December 2016. Col. Ran Vijay Singh Jhala (Administrative Officer, NCC Group Headquarters, Belagavi) was the Chief Guest and rewarded the winners with prizes and trophies. Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza SJ (Rector of the Jesuit House at Belagavi) was the Guest of Honour.
Gold House emerged General Champions. The students of Std. I to X displayed a prayer dance, various drills and march past. The brass band consisting of our young and talented students was in attendance. They are being trained by Mr. R. Bajantri. - Department State Level Table Tennis Tournament
St. Paul’s organized the Department State Level Table Tennis Tournament in collaboration with the Department of Public Instruction Belgaum on the 9th and 10th December 2016. In all 136 teams from the 34 districts of Karnataka state participated in this tournament. The tournament was co-ordinated by Mr. Anthony D’Souza.
January 2017:
- Hanuman Inter-School T25 Cricket Tournament
St. Paul’s were the winners of this tournament which was played on a league cum knock-out basis. This tournament was organized by Ujjway Sports Club, Belagavi from 31st December 2016 to 7th January 2017. Nine teams from various schools participated in this tournament. Master Kishan Meghraj of St. Paul’s was declared the ‘Man of the Tournament’.
February 2017:
- Vasantrao Potdar Polytechnic Inter-School Football Tournament 2017
On the 3rd February 2017, St. Paul’s won this trophy by defeating Sarvodaya High School, Khanapur in a penalty shootout by four goals to two. Eight schools participated in this tournament. The best goalkeeper of the tournament was awarded to Master Aman Sayed and highest goal scorer of the tournament to Master Siddharth Sinde of St. Paul’s. Our football players are being coached by Mr. Agnelo Rego.
