PL Activities – 2016 – 2017

The Paulite Link team started the year 2016 with paramount fervour. A number of significant events and occasions have taken place since.

The PL Team decided to skip the June 2016 issue of the magazine in order to facilitate a mega Jubilee issue in December 2016.

The Release of the Paulite Link Jubilee Issue – December 2016 (Issue No 18)

After hours, days, and months of hard work, digging through all the school’s archives to find the most tiny details pertaining to the history of St. Pauls’ glorious 160 years, the Jubilee Issue of the PL was compiled with utmost care, drafted and edited in minute detail, to serve as a mini-encyclopaedia of the School.

The result is a compilation of one of the most detailed accounts on St. Paul’s High School. What is noteworthy is that the PL team managed to even dig out and put in place some parts of the history that had been lost over the years. A very significant account revealed was the mention of St. Paul’s in the Woodstock Letters, by the then Father Superior (Also Rector and Principal of the school) Fr. Joseph Gonsalves SJ.

The release of the December 2016 Issue was at the School Office on 12th April 2017, in the presence of the Principal Fr. Basil Vago SJ, the PL Team and the PBW Team.

The launch of the Paulite Link Official Social Media Accounts

With a view to increase the ease of connectivity between Paulites the world over, keeping in tune with the PL’s motto “Linking Paulites Across the Globe,” the team launched the official social media accounts of the Paulite Link on 26th April 2017.

The launch of the E-Copy of the Paulite Link & The E-Copy Release of the Paulite Link Jubilee Issue – December 2016 (Issue No 18)

The Paulite Link was published and distributed only in hardcopy since its inception in December 2007. This was a shortcoming for many Paulites from across the globe who were ardent readers, yet would not be able to pay for the huge international postage costs. The postage was thus supported by many generous Paulites from the senior batches who have been contributing over the years to the Paulite Link. In order to bring down this cost and make it easy for the overseas readers,  the PL Team had promised a digital E-Copy of the Magazine earlier, and was evaluating the technicalities of the same.

On May 18th 2017, the first E-Copy of the magazine (Jubilee Issue) was released, and from this issue on, every issue of the PL is decided to be released in digital format for the Tech-Savvy readers. The download link will be available to each and every Paulite and Josephite on the “Official PBW (Paulites of Belgaum Worldwide),” as well as the “Official PL (Paulite Link)” social media platforms.

Readers, Paulites and Josephites, who have been unable to obtain their hard-copy due to various reasons, and specially, esteemed Foreign Readers from across the world, will be able to make use of this to keep in touch with the events and happenings of the School as well as the Alumni.
