The Kindergarten – Sunbeam Nursery

St. Paul's High School - Kindergarten

All kids need is a little help, a little hope and someone who believes in them – Magic Johnson. That is where the teachers and staff at Sunbeam step in.

Sunbeam Nursery is situated in the campus of the Jesuit House Belgaum, a tall stately building amidst a lot of greenery, and is headed by the Headmistress, Mrs. Lira D’Souza. To teach is to learn!  Teaching our tiny tots at St. Paul’s Sunbeam Nursery is no mean feat.  One has to be determined and extremely patient in order to achieve one’s goal. Learning through play is our motto.

The Goal of Sunbeam Nursery is and has always been a holistic development of the child. Hence a learning environment is created within which the child develops physically, socially, emotionally, creatively, intellectually and spiritually. An integrated system of education has been adopted that selects the best of different teaching methods. Using the theme based model, the curriculum is divided into monthly concepts. These concepts are selected from within a childs’ experience and environment; and taught using various materials. The teacher guided art and craft activities are used to encourage the child’s creativity.

Academics take up a major portion of the school year. But all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. At Sunbeam, we not only give importance to academics, which plays a significant role, but also to extra-curricular activities. Various competitions are organized for our tiny tots at Sunbeam to give our little boys an opportunity to showcase their talents.

These Competitions are conducted to help the students to overcome their stage fright. Some boys who are usually shy and quiet in the class-room and in their homes tend to surprise the teachers and their parents with their outstanding performances. They become bold and confident in all that they do.
