St. Paul’s, over the period of 150+ Years had a few initiatives that began and could not further stand the test of time. Some of the significant ones, are mentioned here.
The Hostel
St. Paul’s initially had a Hostel, the Sacred Heart Boarding House, right from the 1870’s. While it catered to the rich initially, the need was later felt for having a boarding for the less privileged, and thus Sacred Heart Boarding House transitioned to Gnanmata Bal Bhavan, which was shut to make way for St. Paul’s Integrated PU College of Science and Commerce, in 2018.
The curtain on the century long Orphanage and Hostel was finally drawn in 2018, and St. Paul’s now, no longer has a hostel facility.
